Huckabee calls for investigation into attack on Washington Post photographer
US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee called for an investigation into the attack on Washington Post photojournalist Heidi Levine in the West Bank and for those responsible to face prosecution.
Levine was attacked while working on Friday. The newspaper's executive editor, Matt Murray, said Israeli settlers assaulted her.
In a statement on X reported by RIA Novosti on October 18, Huckabee described the attack as vicious and cowardly. He said Levine suffered serious injuries and stressed that she is a US citizen who carried press credentials.
Huckabee demanded a full investigation, arrests and prosecution to the fullest extent of the law. He said those responsible should spend years in prison.
