Igor Varitsky urges Metallurg to resolve dispute within the team

Igor Varitsky, a 1993 world champion, opposed public discussion of the dispute between Metallurg coach Andrey Razin and his players in an interview with Sport-Express.
The former general manager of Vityaz and Shanghai Dragons urged those involved to reach an agreement within the team. He highlighted Razin's experience and previous cup success, saying the coach probably understands the causes of the problems in the squad.
Varitsky suggested Razin's public comments may have been intended to help the team win. Even so, he did not support discussing such issues at press conferences. He said experienced adults should sit down together and settle the disagreement internally.
Varitsky also noted that Razin had found a way to work with Vladimir Tkachev last season, when the player performed well. He described the situation involving Egor Yakovlev as longstanding. Metallurg announced on October 6 that Razin had been suspended from coaching duties because of disagreements with players.
