Indonesia expands Bali fuel delivery fleet from three ships to seven
Indonesia has increased the number of ships delivering fuel from Java to Bali from three to seven amid supply disruptions, state information portal InfoPublik reported.
Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said the government aimed to raise the island's Pertalite petrol reserves to cover 15 days of consumption, compared with an average of 11–12 days.
State energy company Pertamina is also adding tanker trucks and keeping fuel terminals and filling stations operating around the clock. Authorities attributed long queues at petrol stations to delayed sea shipments from Java.
Bali has extended its odd-even vehicle registration scheme for refuelling until October 23. The measure is intended to reduce queues.
