Investigators deny migrant claim about teenager charged over fatal Kaluga assault
Investigators in Russia’s Kaluga region denied reports that a 15-year-old charged over a fatal assault on a passer-by was a migrant, regional Investigative Committee spokesman Mikhail Sikulin told RIA Novosti.
Investigators allege that the teenager beat a 46-year-old man after a verbal altercation in Kaluga on October 3 while his companions watched. The man later died in hospital.
Sikulin also said the accused had trained in martial arts. The teenager has been charged under Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code with intentionally causing grievous bodily harm resulting in death through negligence.
Investigative Committee chairman Alexander Bastrykin requested a report on the progress of the investigation.
