IOC points to further Olympic qualification chances for Russian gymnasts

Russian gymnasts denied Dutch visas will have other opportunities to qualify for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, the International Olympic Committee told Sport-Express.
The IOC said World Gymnastics had informed it that athletes would have further qualification opportunities over the next two years. It said it had supported the federation's efforts to secure participation for all gymnasts at the forthcoming championships.
The committee stressed that visa decisions remain the responsibility of national governments. The Dutch refusals prevent the three Russian gymnasts from competing at the event on October 17–25.
Rotterdam is the first Olympic qualification event. The federation's qualification system also provides for team and individual places at the 2027 World Championships and certain individual places through the 2028 apparatus World Cup series.
