Chennai minister inspects monsoon works in Adyar wards

Tamil Nadu’s Information Technology and Digital Services Minister R. Kumar reviewed stormwater-drain works and a pumping station in Wards 179 and 180 of Chennai’s Adyar Zone.

Kumar visited Besant Nagar, Thideer Nagar and parts of Thiruvanmiyur on Wednesday. He met residents and traders, heard their complaints and asked officials to address the issues raised.

The minister inspected stormwater-drain construction on Radhakrishnan Salai, Kalakshetra Road and Malaviya Avenue. He asked officials to complete the work before the monsoon. At a pumping station on Thiruvalluvar Salai, he directed them to take the necessary precautions.

Kumar also visited an Amma Unavagam community canteen in Cholapuram and a fair-price shop in Marudheeswarar Nagar. Residents of Marudheeswarar Nagar, Lakshmipuram and Bharathidasan Street later raised sewage problems and requests related to land titles. The minister asked officials to act promptly.
