Investigators allege that the businessman paid more than 1.6 million rubles for catering contracts at a construction site in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. He is cooperating with the inquiry.
A criminal case alleging commercial bribery has been opened in Kamchatka against a 53-year-old sole proprietor. The regional branch of Russia’s Investigative Committee told Lenta.ru that the businessman came forward with a confession and is cooperating with investigators.
Investigators allege that the head of the administrative and facilities department at a company from Chelyabinsk offered the businessman contracts to organize meals at a construction site in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. In return, the official allegedly demanded an unlawful payment equal to 10% of revenue.
Investigators say the entrepreneur agreed and transferred more than 1.6 million rubles through a relative between June 2024 and August 2025. The relative, according to the agency, did not know about the alleged criminal purpose. The case was opened under Article 204 of Russia’s Criminal Code, which covers commercial bribery. The Investigative Committee said the alleged recipient’s actions will also receive a legal assessment. No conviction has been reported.
