Kamchatka records 11 notable seismic events over the past week

Kamchatka and its offshore areas recorded 11 notable seismic events from October 12 to October 18. Two were felt in populated areas, the regional emergency ministry said, according to Interfax.

The October 16 earthquake in southern Kamchatka produced shaking of up to five intensity points, according to instrumental data.

Shaking was felt in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Vilyuchinsk and the Yelizovo district, as well as Severo-Kurilsk on Paramushir Island in Sakhalin Region.
