KFC to replace PepsiCo drinks with Coca-Cola in US restaurants in 2027

KFC will begin switching its US restaurants from PepsiCo drinks to Coca-Cola in January 2027, with the transition expected to reach every US location by spring.

KFC announced the agreement on October 15. Reuters confirmed the transition timetable with the company. Drinks currently offered at US restaurants include Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Starry and Aquafina.

PepsiCo will retain its business with many KFC outlets outside the United States and with Taco Bell. Both restaurant chains belong to Yum! Brands.

The change follows PepsiCo's loss of contracts with Marriott and Costco food courts. In 2025, however, it began supplying Subway restaurants in the United States under a ten-year agreement.

KFC is changing beverage suppliers while updating its US food menu, including its range of sandwiches, wings and chicken strips.
