Russia's Social Fund says 582,000 fathers received annual family payment

Russia's annual family payment reached 582,000 fathers in its first year, the Social Fund said. In total, the payment was arranged for 1.5 million working parents raising 3.4 million children.
Applications in 2026 were accepted from June through September. The measure supports working parents with at least two children who paid personal income tax on the preceding year's earnings.
The payment is calculated as the difference between assessed personal income tax on the previous year's income and an amount calculated on the same income at 6%. The Social Fund reported the first-year figures on October 16.
Eligibility is assessed against family income and assets. Per-person family income must not exceed one and a half times the regional subsistence minimum. Applicants must also have no outstanding child-support debts.
Both working parents can receive the payment if they meet the eligibility requirements.
Families will be able to apply for the annual payment again from June 2027, the Social Fund said.
