Kuleba warns of risk to urban life-support systems in Ukraine

Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has described the possible failure of electricity, water and sewage services in a major city as the worst scenario for the coming winter.

Speaking to journalist Paul Ronzheimer for the Axel Springer publishing group, Kuleba described Ukraine's situation as difficult. He warned that the consequences of attacks on infrastructure could become much more severe in the coming weeks and months.

The warning appeared in an interview published by WELT on October 11. Kuleba was discussing a possible outcome. The former minister did not claim that electricity, water and sewage services had already failed together in a particular city.

Comparing the situation with last winter, the former minister said medicine and food warehouses were also being targeted. He believes Ukraine can get through the winter, although at a higher cost than the previous year. Kuleba presented those assessments as his own forecast.
