Kyiv authorities advise residents to keep at least three days of water

Kyiv's city administration urged residents on October 10 to prepare for possible prolonged interruptions to power and water supplies. The advice comes amid Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

The administration recommends three litres of drinking water and 10–12 litres of utility water per person per day. Residents are advised to hold enough for at least three days.

The notice also calls for charging power banks and preparing torches and batteries. Candles and food with a long shelf life are included in the list.

Residents are additionally advised to insulate their homes. The administration presents these steps as advance preparation for potential infrastructure failures and interruption of water supplies.

The warning does not announce an inevitable citywide three-day blackout. It gives a recommended duration for household supplies, without establishing how long a possible outage would last.
