LATAM expects to unveil the second phase of its Embraer E2 network expansion by the end of November, with three or four new destinations under consideration, CEO Jerome Cadier said.
The airline received the first of 24 ordered aircraft on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at a ceremony at Embraer’s headquarters. Cadier said LATAM plans to present a third phase in February 2027, as it completes deliveries of the full order.
The first phase is due to begin in November. In August, LATAM announced eight new domestic routes and more frequent service on six existing routes. The changes will bring its Brazilian network to 67 destinations, the largest in the carrier’s history. Up to 14 aircraft are expected to enter service gradually between November and March 2027.
The four new bases are Cabo Frio, Ji-Paraná, Macaé and Rondonópolis. Cadier said route choices reflect demand from agriculture and the oil industry. He also said the E2 could eventually serve regional routes to other South American countries, possibly in the third phase. LATAM has options to buy 50 more aircraft in addition to its 24-plane order and will assess those options after E2 operations begin.
