Magadan leads Russia's regional wage increases from January to July
Average gross monthly wages in Russia's Magadan region rose from 176,700 rubles in January to 210,400 rubles in July 2026. The increase was the largest among Russian regions over that period, RIA Novosti reported after reviewing statistical data.
The difference between the January and July figures was 33,700 rubles. In Chukotka, average wages rose from 223,200 rubles to more than 243,000 rubles over the same period.
Khabarovsk territory ranked third by the size of the increase. Its July average reached 117,200 rubles, up 18,000 rubles from January. The Jewish Autonomous Region, with an increase of 12,000 rubles, and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area, up 10,500 rubles, completed the top five.
The figures represent average monthly accrued wages for employees of organisations before taxes. They include bonuses and the earnings of highly paid staff, so they do not represent the take-home pay of every worker.
