Martinez has surgery on fractured jaw after Everton collision

Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has undergone successful surgery on a fractured jaw, the club announced. The Argentine was injured during the win over Everton on October 17.

Martinez collided with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite midway through the second half and was taken off on a stretcher. Hospital examinations confirmed a fracture requiring surgery.

Chelsea won the match 2-0. Martinez, 34, has played for the London club since August 2026.

The club wished the goalkeeper a speedy recovery and said it would support him throughout his rehabilitation.
