Teenagers detained in Yetkul district grave-damage investigation
Police in Russia's Chelyabinsk region detained four teenagers suspected of involvement in damage to graves at a cemetery in Yetkul district.
The regional Interior Ministry department said on October 18 that three of those detained were 15 and the other was 16. All are local residents and had not previously been registered with juvenile police.
Local media had reported damage to around 30 graves the previous day. Police began an inquiry after receiving information about damaged burial sites.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 244 of Russia's Criminal Code, which covers desecration of bodies and burial sites. Police are continuing to establish the circumstances of the damage.
