Mishustin proposes Siluanov as deputy prime minister while retaining finance portfolio

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has proposed Anton Siluanov for a new combined position of deputy prime minister and finance minister, the government's press service said.
The incumbent finance minister's nomination has been submitted to the State Duma for approval. The proposal would combine the portfolios, allowing Siluanov to continue leading the Finance Ministry if appointed.
Deputy prime ministers are appointed by the president after their nominations are approved by the State Duma. The lower house will now need to consider Mishustin's proposal.
