Polish police report school situation has stabilised

Polish police said on October 19 that no further school incidents or arrests had been recorded following a series of attacks. The nationwide school security operation remains in place.

Officers have conducted about 238 thousand checks of educational institutions and detained 194 people since the operation began. Those are cumulative figures, rather than arrests made on Monday.

The checks cover the whole country and aim to protect children, young people and staff at educational institutions. The increased security measures followed acts of violence in schools earlier in October.

Police continue to monitor online reports around the clock and respond to information about potential threats.
