Moscow adds outdoor exercise areas in residential neighbourhoods

Moscow is replacing exercise equipment and creating sports areas near homes as part of courtyard improvements. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin outlined this year's completed work on October 18.

An open-air gym was installed on Bolshaya Cheryomushkinskaya Street in Akademichesky district. Veyernaya Street in Ochakovo-Matveyevskoye gained a workout area with horizontal bars, parallel bars and gymnastic rings.

Previously unused land in Ozerkovsky Lane in Zamoskvorechye was turned into a sports area. A basketball court with a safety surface was placed beside it.

Exercise areas were also installed on Arkhitektora Vlasova Street in Lomonosovsky district, Bazovskaya Street in Zapadnoye Degunino and Lukhmanovskaya Street in Kosino-Ukhtomsky.

A neighbourhood park with a sports cluster was created on Aivazovskogo Street in Yasenevo.
