Moscow High-Speed Diameter peak-hour toll to rise to 25 roubles per section

The Moscow High-Speed Diameter toll during busy weekday periods will rise by six roubles to 25 roubles per section from October 16, RBC reported, citing the city's transport department.

The charging periods will remain 7–11 a.m. and 4–8 p.m. on working days. Ordinary journeys outside those hours, on weekends and on public holidays will remain free. The separate transit toll will stay at 950 roubles.

The department linked the increase to heavier traffic. September flows rose by 20,000 vehicles a day, or 5% year on year. Officials aim to keep congestion at six points and prevent traffic intensity from increasing further.

The road was connected to the Southern Lytkarino highway in 2026. The department said that gave drivers alternative routes and redistributed traffic, while also increasing pressure on the Diameter.

A section will still be charged only when a vehicle both enters and leaves during a charging period. Entering at 6:55 a.m. and leaving at 7:30 a.m. remains free, as does entering at 10:55 a.m. and leaving at 11:30 a.m.

Daily journey charges are combined into one bill issued within five days. The department recommends the official road website, Parking Russia, Gosuslugi, Yandex Maps, Yandex Navigator, 2GIS or banking applications that contain the vehicle's details.

Emergency services, postal vehicles, municipal service equipment, public transport and school buses retain free access at all times. The exemption also covers taxis licensed in Moscow or Moscow Region.
