Moscow Region opens third intake of school leadership program

The regional program “Captains of Education: Moscow Region Personnel Reserve” selected 75 participants from 146 applicants. The education ministry says 33 graduates of earlier cohorts have already become school principals.

The third intake of a program for preparing education managers has opened in the Moscow Region. Regional Education Minister Ingrid Pildes said 75 people were selected from 146 applications this year. The project began about a year and a half ago.

According to the ministry, 33 program graduates have already been appointed school principals. Pildes said their work includes developing solutions for schools and leading staff teams. The Corporate University for Education Development, which organizes the project, also reported that the third season opened on October 8.

After the ceremony, participants attended a training session on a manager’s speech etiquette in difficult communication situations. It was led by Natalia Akhrenova, head of postgraduate education at the Institute of Foreign Languages of RUDN University. The session covered communication with staff, public speaking and negotiations.

The ministry’s press service said participants will continue with study modules, practical work and their own management projects. Organizers describe the program as a way to build a leadership reserve for schools across the region.
