Moscow renovating around 30 residential buildings with bay windows

Moscow is upgrading around 30 residential buildings with projecting bay windows under its capital repair programme in 2026, the mayor’s website reported on October 14.
One project concerns a six-storey neoclassical building constructed in 1914 at 14 Bolshoy Predtechensky Lane. Its facade is being restored, roofing replaced and utilities renewed. Work on the base of the building is also planned.
At 39/1 Zemlyanoy Val, Building 1, specialists are restoring the historic facade of an eight-storey building from 1952. A tailored project, materials and techniques were selected to preserve its Soviet neoclassical decorative features.
Work is also under way at 9 Tikhvinsky Lane, Building 2, a four-storey building dating from 1914. The project covers its facade, roof and basement, alongside replacement of utility risers and mains.
A bay window projects from the facade, enlarging the interior and improving natural light. Such features may be rectangular, semicircular or polygonal. The city’s announcement describes ongoing projects rather than completion of repairs to all 30 buildings.
