Chennai plans bus connections near new Metro stations from October 11

Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) will provide bus connections near Chennai Metro Rail Phase II stations between Poonamallee Bypass and Vadapalani from October 11, according to an operator statement reported by The Hindu.

Signs at all 11 stations point passengers towards the nearest bus stops. MTC said these connections would allow commuters to transfer between buses and Metro trains for journeys to different parts of Chennai.

MTC and Chennai Metro Rail will also assess whether additional feeder buses are needed and feasible. Passenger feedback and demand will inform that assessment, so further services remain a proposal rather than a confirmed part of the October 11 arrangements.

The operator statement quoted by The Hindu does not specify bus route numbers, fares or service frequencies.
