Yekaterinburg court remands man accused of station killing

Yekaterinburg's Leninsky District Court has remanded Alexander Galtsov in custody through November 21. He is accused of killing a woman at Chapayevskaya railway station in spring 2025.
The Sverdlovsk region courts' joint press service announced the detention order. Investigators allege that the local resident was involved in the killing on April 26, 2025.
Police were unable to identify a suspect immediately after the crime. The custody decision comes roughly a year and a half after the incident.
Local media identified the victim as 64-year-old Tamara Gribanova. She was heading to a friend's birthday celebration, had paid for purchases at a shop near the station and walked to the stop where the attack occurred.
Remand is a preventive measure during criminal proceedings. The court announcement contains no conviction and does not establish Galtsov's guilt.
