Wishart stabbing charge upgraded to murder after man dies in hospital

A 32-year-old man has died after an alleged stabbing in the Brisbane suburb of Wishart. Police upgraded the charge against another 32-year-old man to murder on October 11 following the victim's death.
Police said the alleged assault happened shortly before 4am on Saturday at a home on Barcelona Street. The injured man was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he later died.
The accused, from Cornubia in Logan, had initially been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm. He also faces a charge of contravening an order to provide access to electronic information.
He remains in custody and is due to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday. Police asked anyone who saw suspicious activity nearby or has footage to contact them. The allegations have not been determined by a court.
