Nvidia discussing Reflection AI investment or acquisition, FT reports

Nvidia is in early talks to increase its investment in Reflection AI or acquire the startup, the Financial Times reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
One option would involve hiring Reflection AI staff and licensing its technology rather than buying the company outright, according to the report. A further investment is another possibility. The structure of any agreement remains undecided.
The Financial Times said Nvidia has already invested $800 million in Reflection AI. The startup develops open-weight artificial intelligence models and recently introduced Beam. Open weights allow customers to run models on their own computing infrastructure.
Reuters and Bloomberg also reported on the discussions. Bloomberg, citing a person familiar with the situation, described talks about increasing investment or providing computing power. Reflection AI declined to comment on the FT report. Nvidia did not immediately respond to Reuters' request for comment.
