Natália Silva celebrates UFC title with fans in Contagem

Natália Silva celebrated her UFC title with fans in Contagem. She beat Wang Cong by unanimous decision on Oct. 3 to become the first Brazilian woman to hold the promotion’s flyweight belt.

The judges scored the UFC 332 main event 48-47, 48-47 and 49-46 for Silva. The win made her the first Brazilian woman to hold the UFC’s flyweight title.

On Wednesday, Oct. 7, Silva showed the belt to residents of Contagem in Minas Gerais state. Fans cheered her as she walked through the city, and videos of the celebration circulated on social media.

Silva was born in Pingo D’Água, a small town in Minas Gerais. She is the second fighter from the state to win a UFC title, after Glover Teixeira, who captured the light heavyweight belt in 2021.
