The head of a police drug-control department in Nizhny Novgorod was dismissed for loss of trust, regional prosecutors reported on October 9 following an inspection in the Sormovo district.

According to prosecutors, the officer at Police Department No. 8 engaged in business activity from March to June 2026 through an affiliated person registered as an individual entrepreneur. The business provided taxi and courier services.

Prosecutors issued a formal demand to remedy violations of anti-corruption legislation. Following its consideration, the officer was dismissed from the internal affairs bodies on grounds of loss of trust.

The personnel decision was therefore based on business activity through another person identified by prosecutors. The cited statement does not give the officer's name or income. It reports a dismissal and supervisory findings rather than a criminal conviction.
