Palantir and London mayor's office settle £50 million police contract dispute

Palantir and London mayor Sadiq Khan's office have settled a legal dispute over a blocked £50 million Metropolitan Police contract. The parties announced their agreement on October 14.
The proposed software deal concerned automating information analysis in criminal investigations. The mayor's administration withheld approval in May. The Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime had raised concerns about negotiations with a single supplier and insufficient evidence of value for money.
RIA Novosti, citing Politico, reported that proceedings had been expected in January 2027. The parties have now withdrawn their allegations against each other and will cover their own legal costs.
In a joint statement reported by Reuters, the parties clarified that the decision not to enter the contract was unrelated to Palantir's values or ethics. The oversight office is working with police on a new competitive procurement process in which the company can participate.
