Sibir coach says minor injury kept Taylor Beck out against Salavat Yulaev

Sibir forward Taylor Beck missed the October 14 game against Salavat Yulaev because of a minor injury, head coach Yaroslav Lyuzenkov said. Valitov is closest to returning among the team’s injured players, according to the coach.

Lyuzenkov said the other injured players were further from returning to the ice. Discussing the victory, he credited fewer passing errors and compact play in the neutral zone with helping Sibir protect their lead.

The coach said Sibir had been unable to spend as much time attacking as planned. He singled out the players’ commitment in the dressing room after they preserved their advantage.

After the game, Sibir had 15 points from 16 games and stood sixth in the Eastern Conference. The team’s next game is at home against Barys on October 17.
