The singer’s former partner said on Instagram they tried to restore their relationship but decided to go separate ways; the couple have two children.
Influencer Paula Aires, the former partner of singer Matheus Aleixo of the duo with Kauan, said she would file for divorce. In Instagram stories, she said they had tried to resume their relationship but were unable to reconcile.
“We really tried again; Matheus has been at home for 50 days, but it didn’t work. I tried for the family, our history and the love that was always there, at least from my side,” Aires said. She added that it was time for both of them to move on.
Aires said they would remain united in respect for raising their two children. She said she would begin divorce proceedings and thanked followers for their support and messages expressing hope for a reconciliation.
The couple announced their separation in May after 14 years together. In a joint statement at the time, they said their personal goals had diverged, although their love had not ended. After the announcement, Matheus temporarily left social media; he later posted that he needed to recover and find himself.
