Pedro marks 100th Zenit appearance with two assists

Pedro made his 100th appearance for Zenit in the club's match against Krasnodar. The 20-year-old Brazilian midfielder provided two assists as Zenit won 3-2.

The game took place on October 10 in the Russian championship's 10th round. Pedro told the club's press service that he had discussed the milestone with his wife before the match. He described his 100th game as an important career landmark and said he was happy it coincided with victory over a major rival.

The midfielder said Zenit understood how difficult the match would be and created several chances without converting all of them. He was pleased with his assists but considered the three points the most important outcome.

The victory put Zenit top of the league with 21 points. Krasnodar have the same total, but the St Petersburg side lead on the competition's tie-breaking criteria. Zenit will host Akhmat in St Petersburg in round 11.
