Bezzecchi wins Indonesian MotoGP as Martin regains championship lead

Marco Bezzecchi won the Indonesian MotoGP on October 11, while third-placed Jorge Martin returned to the top of the championship, two points ahead of Marc Marquez.

The Italian Aprilia rider beat Raul Fernandez by 4.260 seconds at Mandalika. Fernandez started from pole position and held the lead until lap 19, when Bezzecchi moved ahead.

All three podium finishers rode Aprilia motorcycles. Martin finished 6.890 seconds behind the winner. Ai Ogura took fourth, giving the manufacturer the first four places in the final classification. Marquez finished sixth.

Martin now has 355 championship points, followed by Marquez on 353 and Bezzecchi on 309. Marquez had won Saturday's sprint to take the overall lead, but Sunday's race reversed their positions again. Bezzecchi remains in contention for the title with five race weekends left in the season.
