Pirelli selects C3, C4 and C5 tyres for Singapore Grand Prix

Formula 1 drivers will have Pirelli’s three softest compounds in Singapore, with the race weekend set to use the sprint format.

Pirelli has selected the C3, C4 and C5 compounds for the Singapore Grand Prix. C3 will serve as the hard tyre, C4 as the medium and C5 as the soft. The same range was used at last year’s race.

The sprint format reduces each driver’s allocation of slick tyres from 13 sets to 12: two sets of C3, four of C4 and six of C5. Drivers will also receive six sets of intermediates and three sets of full wets.

The weekend begins on Friday, October 9, with practice and sprint qualifying. Saturday brings the sprint and the main qualifying session, while the Grand Prix is scheduled for Sunday, October 11. It will be the first Singapore round of Formula 1 to use the sprint format.

Pirelli expects track temperatures of about 30 to 35 degrees Celsius at night and does not anticipate major tyre overheating. Most of the wear is expected on the rear axle during acceleration. A one-stop strategy remains the baseline for Sunday’s race, although teams may use the C5 more often in the sprint.

In 2025, most drivers started on medium or soft tyres, while C3 was the most common choice for the second stint. Nearly the entire field completed the race with one stop.
