Prigozhin backs Zivert after criticism of her Michael Jackson tribute

Producer Iosif Prigozhin urged singer Zivert not to be troubled by criticism of her performance at Gazprom Arena, where she performed Michael Jackson songs and recreated his signature moonwalk.

The concert took place in St. Petersburg on October 3. The report said it drew about 60,000 people and cost 174 million rubles. The show included a fashion segment and a tribute to Michael Jackson, including a performance of “Thriller.”

Afterward, social media users accused the singer of copying the King of Pop. Zivert described her critics as narrow-minded and embittered. In comments to the National News Service, Prigozhin said he supported her and noted that artists are emotional people who can be hurt by public reaction.

He added that many of the people criticizing the show, in his view, had not attended it. Prigozhin urged Zivert not to dwell on comments from envious critics and said the performance should be judged with the audience’s experience in mind.
