Zardari approves foreign visits by Pakistan's top court chiefs
Yahya Afridi will travel to Britain, South Korea and Japan, while Aminuddin Khan will visit Azerbaijan for a constitutional court conference.
Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari approved foreign leave and no-objection certificates on the prime minister's advice. The presidency announced the permissions on Monday evening. They cover Supreme Court Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and Federal Constitutional Court Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan.
Afridi's visits to Britain, South Korea and Japan are scheduled for October 14-21 and October 27-November 4. The announcement does not assign a particular country to either period or set out the dates for each stop.
Khan will visit Azerbaijan from October 19 to 22 to attend TÜRK-AY, a conference of constitutional courts and institutions exercising constitutional jurisdiction in the Turkic world. Pakistan's Federal Constitutional Court obtained observer status in the organisation in July.
