Rostov-on-Don air checks find no excessive hazardous substance concentrations

Rospotrebnadzor found no unacceptable concentrations of hazardous substances in air checks in Rostov-on-Don after the overnight October 10 attack. City authorities said residents’ complaints about an unpleasant smell prompted the measurements.

The finding describes the measurements carried out. Specialists will conduct additional checks if residents report the smell again, and authorities intend to release those results separately.

Mayor Aleksandr Skryabin announced an emergency regime within the streets where damage was identified. Apartment buildings, private homes and infrastructure were damaged in three districts. Authorities said six residents received medical assistance and no deaths were reported.

City services were instructed to assess damage and accept applications for financial assistance. Municipal crews were assigned to clean areas near the affected sites.

During the day after the attack, authorities reported traffic restrictions: Zapadny Bridge was closed in both directions, while entry via Temernitsky Bridge was blocked but outbound traffic remained possible. That announcement identified Voroshilovsky and Aksaysky bridges as alternative entrances. It describes the restrictions after the attack, without establishing that they remained in place the following morning.

Governor Yuri Slyusar reported more than 100 drones destroyed or suppressed overnight. The attack affected Rostov-on-Don, Bataysk, Taganrog and ten districts of the region. Two vessels were damaged in Azov and an unoccupied new residential building in Bataysk. Emergency services fought a fire at industrial warehouse facilities.

Damage to a railway bridge temporarily halted train movements, which subsequently resumed. Federal Passenger Company reported delays affecting 25 passenger trains at that stage. The figure describes services affected by the disruption rather than trains all remaining stationary after the line reopened.
