Piastri fails to finish Singapore Sprint after Norris collision

Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris collided on the final lap of the Singapore Grand Prix Sprint on October 10. Piastri did not complete the lap and was classified 14th, while his McLaren teammate finished eighth.
FIA reported that Norris tried to pass Piastri at Turn 5. Both cars spun after contact, shortly after the McLarens had closed on Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari.
The collision allowed Kimi Antonelli to take fourth. Leclerc retained third by 0.367 seconds over the Mercedes driver.
Max Verstappen won the Sprint, with Lewis Hamilton second, 2.591 seconds behind. The race took place on intermediate tyres after rain.
George Russell had crashed while leading on the opening lap. For McLaren, the decisive incident came at the end of the distance, when the teammates’ contact cost both drivers positions.
