A draft Social Fund budget provides for indexation of the payment; RIA Novosti reported projected amounts for 2027–2029, citing the document.
Russia’s social funeral benefit could reach 10,336.78 rubles from February 1, 2027, and 11,180.26 rubles from February 1, 2029, according to RIA Novosti, citing a draft budget for the Social Fund of Russia.
The agency reported several interim amounts: 9,678.63 rubles from January 1, 2027; 10,336.78 rubles from January 1, 2028; 10,750.25 rubles from February 1, 2028; and 10,750.25 rubles from January 1, 2029. The draft provides for indexation on February 1 based on inflation in the previous year.
The draft also allocates money for benefits for people who were covered by compulsory social insurance at the time of death and for certain minors. RIA reported that 1.8 billion rubles are planned for this purpose, based on about 156,000 payments a year. A separate budget item covers funeral benefits and services for non-working pensioners.
These figures are draft projections for future years and could change during budget review and subsequent indexation. Current benefit amounts are set separately; the reported projections are not yet in force.
