Russian gymnastics federation discloses stated grounds for three visa refusals

The notices cite a threat to the international relations of one or more Schengen states, according to the Russian Gymnastics Federation.
The federation published the wording from decisions concerning Angelina Melnikova, Viktoria Listunova and Anna Kalmykova. This clarifies the grounds for previously reported refusals rather than announcing decisions on other athletes.
The wording does not identify which state raised an objection. It also does not disclose the specific circumstances underlying the assessment of a threat to international relations.
The world championships in Rotterdam run from October 17 to 25 and are due to allocate the first team qualification places for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
The Russian Olympic Committee had already announced plans to challenge the event's qualifying status. Five other gymnasts await visa decisions. Daniel Marinov, Arseniy Dukhno, Sergei Naidin and Alyona Glotova have received visas and arrived in the Netherlands.
