Russian tour association denies rain-driven Antalya holiday sale

The Association of Tour Operators of Russia said isolated Antalya packages priced around 30,000 rubles per person do not amount to a sale caused by bad weather.
In a statement reported by RBC on October 16, the association said Antalya holiday prices traditionally decline toward the end of the month as the low season begins. It disputed a Shot Telegram report linking cheap packages to heavy rain and flooding.
The association cited a five-night package from Moscow departing October 17 at 62,213 rubles for two people. Comparable departures on October 18 started at 84,000 rubles for two, it said. It described the lower prices as isolated last-minute offers rather than a measure of the wider market.
Reports of bad weather nevertheless concern actual events in the province. The DHA news agency reported heavy rain on October 14 and localized flooding in Demre, where vehicles became stranded on flooded roads.
Antalya's municipality said on October 15 that work was continuing after flooding in Demre. That update concerned the consequences of the rain on the evening of October 14.
