Samara Region accepts 219 People's Budget projects
Samara Region has accepted 219 of the 235 projects in its People's Budget program for 2026, the regional government said after an October 19 meeting chaired by Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev.
Most applications this year concerned roads, playgrounds, recreation areas, water supply and sewerage. For 2027, officials have received 187 applications involving about 722 million rubles in proposed regional funding. Applications close on November 15, with winners to be selected by December 15.
A separate program, Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment, covers improvements to 131 public spaces and 102 courtyards in 2026. Work is complete at 212 sites, with the remainder scheduled for completion by December 1. Four projects selected in a nationwide competition will be deferred to 2027 because private investment is needed.
Officials also inspected 258 sites improved in 2024–2025. They found no defects at 225 and minor shortcomings at 22, some of which have been corrected. Major defects were found at 11 sites and have been fixed at three.
Fedorishchev instructed municipal leaders to secure repairs and strengthen claims against contractors. Defects covered by warranty obligations must be remedied at contractors' expense.
