Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev outlined changes to the Samara region government at the first meeting of the eighth-term regional parliament. The measures are tied to the region’s development strategy through 2036.
The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Migration Policy will become part of the Ministry of Social-Demographic and Family Policy. The Ministry of Science and Higher Education will be incorporated into the Ministry of Economic Development and Investment. The culture and tourism ministries will also be merged.
Fedorishchev said cooperation between the regional parliament, government and municipalities should follow the region’s socio-economic development strategy through 2036. He said the plan is aligned with the presidential decree and national projects.
The governor called on lawmakers to work together systematically. He said the restructuring would consolidate related areas and remove duplicate functions. Interfax reported that the regional government had also completed forming its team.
