Sergey Sobyanin outlines Moscow's adult learning standard

Sergey Sobyanin said on October 9 that Moscow is developing a continuous education standard for adults. Its core is the Professions of the Future centre and its practical training site in Pechatniki.
The mayor said the system enables people to study throughout their working lives, update skills, improve qualifications and learn a different profession. It addresses the needs of residents, businesses and the city's economy.
More than 100,000 people gained a new profession or improved their qualifications during the centre's first three years, Sobyanin said. It offers 75 training fields, including short courses delivered by leading Moscow universities and enterprises.
The practical training facility in Pechatniki complements the centre's programmes. Residents can also learn new skills or improve qualifications at Technograd, the educational complex at VDNKh.
Plans to build seven innovative colleges in the coming years form a separate part of changes to the city's vocational education system. Those are planned facilities, while the adult training centre is already operating.
