Sergey Nekrasov confirms earlier Crvena Zvezda interest in Marquinhos

Spartak general director Sergey Nekrasov confirmed that Crvena Zvezda had shown interest in Marquinhos, but said he had not heard that the player seriously considered a move.

In an interview published by Sport-Express on October 9, Nekrasov described significant activity from the Serbian club while Dejan Stanković coached there. He said Crvena Zvezda was not the only club interested in the Brazilian.

The Spartak executive believes Marquinhos reached a different level after moving to Moscow. The midfielder joined from Ferencváros in summer 2024, following Stanković, with whom he had previously worked in Budapest.

Reports of a possible move to Belgrade appeared after Stanković's appointment at Crvena Zvezda in December 2025. Media reports in January described a potential offer of around €5 million, while Championat reported that Spartak valued the player at €8 million. Those reported figures do not establish that a deal was agreed.

Serbian club executive Zvezdan Terzić previously denied interest publicly. In April, the player's agent Aleksandr Samu said no official offers had arrived and that Marquinhos was happy in Moscow.

Marquinhos remained with Spartak for the 2026/27 season. His contract runs until summer 2029. Nekrasov's new comments concern earlier interest rather than an agreed transfer.
