Shake Shack plans first Brazil restaurant in 2027

U.S. burger chain Shake Shack plans to enter Brazil next year, with its first restaurant slated for São Paulo. The partners aim to open 40 locations over the next decade.

Bold Hospitality Company, the Brazilian operator of Outback restaurants, will run the business under an exclusive master-franchise agreement. Mauro Guardabassi is expected to lead Shake Shack’s local operation.

The menu is expected to include the ShackBurger, Chicken Shack, fries and frozen custard, according to Bold. The company also plans to work with local producers and suppliers.

Founded in 2004, Shake Shack operates more than 710 restaurants worldwide. CNN Brasil reported that about 460 are in the United States and more than 250 are abroad.
