Shuya substation sabotage case referred to regional court

Prosecutors in Russia's Ivanovo region have referred a case against two men accused of attempting to destroy an electricity substation in Shuya to the regional court.
The defendants are a 27-year-old Shuya resident and a 32-year-old resident of the surrounding district. Investigators allege that they attempted to damage and destroy the substation during daylight hours in November 2025.
According to prosecutors, the men acted for financial gain on instructions from unidentified people. They face charges of attempted sabotage involving an energy infrastructure facility.
The regional prosecutor's office said officers of the Federal Security Service detected and stopped the attempt. The referral moves the case to consideration of the charges on their merits. The statement reports no verdict, and the allegations have not yet been established by a trial court.
