Singareni trainees selected for 112 jobs with Foxconn and L&T

A training centre run by Singareni Collieries in Telangana has helped 87 women and 25 men secure job offers. The first group of women travelled to Hyderabad on October 11.

Company officials said 154 candidates attended recruitment interviews at the centre in the Ramagundam-I area. Foxconn selected 87 of the 127 women interviewed. Another 27 men applied for solar technician positions, with 25 selected.

The first group of 55 women left Godavarikhani for Hyderabad on Sunday. Officials said the recruits would work on Apple EarPods assembly and electronic components at Foxconn's manufacturing facility. The company held the special recruitment interviews at the training centre the previous week.

The men completed the centre's solar technician course. Ramagundam-I general manager D. Lalith Kumar said those selected were expected to join L&T within ten days.

The centre opened two years ago to provide skills and employment opportunities for young people from communities affected by Singareni's coal-mining operations. Officials said it had helped more than 500 candidates find employment during that period.

Its courses are chosen to match demand from employers, with recruitment linked to the training programmes. Kumar said Singareni would continue preparing local young people for work and urged the selected candidates to maintain workplace discipline and develop their professional skills.
