Bengaluru public tribunal challenges voter-roll revision

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and YouTuber Dhruv Rathee took part in a gathering focused on the electoral-roll review on October 8.

A “people’s tribunal” on the special intensive revision of electoral rolls was held Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Freedom Park in Bengaluru, The Hindu reported.

Dipke accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of undermining democracy and stealing votes. He said protests would continue until Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar resigns. These were allegations made by a participant, not established findings.

The event took place amid a wider dispute over the voter-roll revision in Karnataka. Other outlets reported that demonstrators also called for the SIR exercise to end and raised concerns about voters being removed from the rolls. Those claims do not amount to an independent assessment of the Election Commission’s work.
