Sony refreshes Walkman lineup with players priced up to $5,900

Sony introduced three Walkman music players: the NW-WM1ZM3, NW-WM1AM3 and NW-ZX900. Bloomberg reported respective prices of about $5,900, $3,000 and $1,900.
All three devices run Android and use DSD Remastering Engine processing. Sony says the technology processes digital audio to produce a character closer to analogue sound.
The flagship NW-WM1ZM3 has a gold-plated oxygen-free copper chassis. The NW-WM1AM3 combines an aluminum-alloy main chassis with a gold-plated oxygen-free copper rear section.
Sony’s UK announcement lists suggested prices of £4,299 for the NW-WM1ZM3 and £2,099 for the NW-WM1AM3. Both are due in November. The announcement also specifies five-and-a-half-inch screens.
